Kali Linux on AWS

Hi. I had signed up for AWS. And created an instance with Kali Linux image. I have been able to connect using WinSCP to the server. I sometimes do that with Powershell too. I tried installing a few tools on it. But was unable to access it. For example, on windows while using a VM we download the file and are able to use it using the terminal.
