Just heard that you can feed your physical security logs into the SIEM?

Thought the use case for SIEM was to monitor network infrastructure. Do companies feed their physical access logs into SIEM as well? I can't imagine how or if it would be worth while. Maybe for Incident Response to piece timeline together but you can also do it by comparing both logs no?
