Just a curious question regarding blocking sensitive information when sharing screenshots

Well I created two examples but I guess I can't share images.

Anyway, I was curious when sharing Snip-Its of various information and using the editor to block out sensitive information with the pen tool is there a way for someone else to undo the editing to see what was blocked out or do the overlays become permanently part of the image and the censored information is gone.
