I ran across digital forensics and found that it's pretty interesting. I wanted to know if there were any security jobs that are similar in the sense of investigating, documenting (I actually enjoy writing technical documentation) and rabbit holing.

I'm a developer by trade, so I would like to have my skill set used, but it's not mandatory.

I've considered AppSec since it's a natural transition forward from development after getting more experience, but it doesn't really excite me much.
