Any tips on how to make this a productive starting point or insights into how to leverage IT auditor to positions with higher freedom or earning potential?

Left a career teaching Forensic Science in my earlier 30s after finding interests in hacking. Just landed my first job as a state county IT auditor. Tried to get OSCP prior, but I am just not there yet and will do eJpt first.
