is vs code really phoning home every single keystroke?

so i kinda accidentally stumbled upon this, so whenever you type something in vscode, bytes get sent to microsoft. when you stop typing the traffic stops. i guess theres no way to actually see what data gets sent out, but surely it wouldn't be like.. the actual letters i am typing, right?
