I'm asking this mainly in the context of avoiding tracking such as from ad companies. I value privacy but not to the level that would significantly compromise convenience.

I'm no expert in IT but would it be accurate that using web services in browser instead of their native apps (for things like Reddit, e-commerce apps, social media, etc) helps reduce tracking?
