Is Top Secret a requirement?

Hello, I am currently in the military as a non IT job, but I want to make a career change, I only have confidential clearance and I want to get out, but Should I extend my contract to only obtain a Top Secret clearance? I really don't want to but if a TS/SCI will open a brighter future for me I will suck it up.
