Is there any difference if an JWT is stored in React State or a cookie?

Hello, I'm kind of newbie to web security and I would like to know if there is any difference between using React State and Cookies to store a JWT token.

Most of my searches about storing auth data in cookies resulted only in cookie-based authentication which is stateful on the server and does not correspond to my use case.
