Is there a privacy risk when using a smartwatch to receive notifications from apps from my phone?

I have a Garmin smartwatch. Among other things, I like to use it to forward notifications from my phone (even to the point that my phone doesn’t even vibrate anymore, only my watch does).

I’m only now considering the possibility that the content of those notifications might be readable by Garmin.
