Is reporting 'abuse' to network admins effective?

I am selfhosting a server directly exposed to the Internet, which is hardened and monitored.
The server is constantly being probed by scanners and brute-forcers, which get automatically blocked as a first step.
However, as a second step, I am wondering if there are actual benefits in contacting the admins of the offending networks, providing them with detailed evidence of the attempted attacks, to help them cleanup bad actors from their networks.
