If you need to email somebody an encrypted file, is encrypting the attachment in Thunderbird or eMClient with built-in PGP just as secure as encrypting the file first in a Veracrypt container and emailing as attachment thay way? I would use a 20 character passphrase for the PGP Key.

Similar, if you use webmail, is using a PGP encryption chrome extension like Mailvelope (https://mailvelope.com/) as secure as Veracrypt? Maybe another PGP extension?
