Is it strange that I don't want to give my government ID to a company where you can sell content?

I registered on Audio Jungle in hopes of selling samples there and to my surprise my first submission got accepted immediately. The thing is, after that I got an email through Envato Market (which they are part of) asking me to verify my identity with a government-issued photo ID and a selfie taken on a computer.
