Is it possible for my Landlord to monitor our internet at the Demarc point?

As the title states, I think my landlord is monitoring the buildings tenants internet with some sort of security system at the Demarc point. I live in an aggressive realestate market and myself and others are paying significantly less than current market value due to rent control laws.
