Just out of curiosity, since mac's have limited options compared to Windows. Like say I did a backup, then used DC (Cellebrite Digital Collector) to read from that drive on a Mac, then spit out?

I don't remember how I got it to work exactly. But at one point in time I was given time machine backup snapshots I believe and I used DC to write out the files and it somehow worked. But how forensically sound is that?
