iPhone keeps prompting me to enter in password because FaceID not recognized

It used to happen all the time and I turned off my “raise to wake” setting and that helped a lot, but it’s been happening more often lately. I’ve checked the Apple FAQ and none of what is suggested is what’s happening to me. Could there be another reason my phone prompts my password so often?
