Increasing amount of sites and services disallowing IP blocking software

Is it just me or does it seem that over the last 6 months or so, in the U.S. at least, more and more websites are "breaking" if you try to access them over a V\*P\*N. I have T-Mobile and their mobile app has stopped working over my V\*P\*N as well.I use a premium, highly recognized, service provider for both my mobile and desktop (different brands for each) and am still getting blocked unless I disable them.
