I'm about to start a new job in Germany and will be using a company-provided laptop to work from home. What privacy precautions should I take?

Taking into account that the laptop I'll receive for my new job in Germany might have monitoring software, I'm seeking clarity on its tracking abilities.

Can it track mouse movements, and does it have access to the camera and mic? Also, is it within the IT department's capabilities to turn on the microphone without my knowledge? Can they find out if I'm really working or not?
