I hope you don't mind beginner-level questions! I'm in a digital forensics class and we've been given an image to analyze (Windows, I think 2000 but I'm not in front of the assignment right now). I found EFS-encrypted files, and I've found hints in the image's chat/email logs that instruct us on how to use the System and SAM registry hives to crack the password and decrypt the files.
