If I don't care about Government surveillance but I just want to hide personal data from corporations, is Fastmail a good option as a mail provider?

I am currently with Mailbox and, while they are ok, they do have some weird stuff like their 2FA that I never managed to make work, or their web interface which is so-so etc. But the main thing is that they are now cancelling their old affordable plans and forcing all clients to move to some new ones which, for my use case, are expensive.
