I just watched a documentary about WannaCry

Since the domain being active was the killswitch I'm curious what would happen if the domain went offline? I know the domain was going under major DDOS attacks by the Mirai botnet during the time when WannaCry was just killed but what would happen if the domain went offline now? (practically impossible because of amazon and cloudflare) but I'm honestly curious, would we all be fk'd?
