My call with a recruiter was cut short when my security tool experience through TryHackMe/HackTheBox didn't count because it wasn't "professional" experience. When asked what jobs in his company train people in these tools, he couldn't answer.



Anybody telling you to train yourself is either malicious, didn't have to develop a homelab to get a job, a hobbyist who can't understand why you wouldn't want to do this shit in your free time or someone just trying to help but …
