How to become a Cyber security engineer

Hey ya'll, I have total off about 7 years of experience in IT out of which I have 2.3 years of experience in endpoint security, Email Security and a little bit of vulnerability assessment. I want to move to a role that does is not require me to be in shifts and more of a engineering role .
Looking for a road map of sorts for this.
