How much can my employee see through their provided laptop?

My new employer will be providing me with a Macbook Pro. As far as I know, there's no obvious monitoring software on it, but there's probably at least something.

Is there any way for me to check what they can see? Obviously I'm not going to do anything too personal on it either way, but I'd like to know how far I have to take it.
