How invasive is Microsoft Teams for employees? Assuming you have to use your own device

We have to use our own devices (desktops) and they want us to install Teams on a separate user account to sign in to the org.
Privacy wise, how deep does it go? It already tracks your online/away/busy status. Can it see what other software you are running or have installed?
