How important is using a privacy based search engine?

Hello, i use safari with google as the search engine. I am using snapchat, spotify youtube and discord so you can gauge my level of risk tolerance. Just how much would switching to using something like searx help me? Also bonus question. I use gmail for my snapchat account, would swapping the email to a proton mail without deleting and starting over help me or should i bite the bullet?
