How does FB know who i am?

I have a fb account for the market place; I don't use my real name and don't have any friends on the account, I don't have another fb account and i don't use social media. Multiple times I've had suggestions from fb for people i may know, including: family members, work acquaintances and even my old boss. It's happened at least 3 times so far.
