How do you tell if a local fiber company is trustworthy as an ISP? There are no details about them online other than the portal.

There's a local fiber company here that offers better rates than the established big ISPs. I'm thinking of switching, but are these smaller ISPs sketchy in terms of data privacy? Or are all ISPs the same and I'm overthinking it? Should I ask them anything in particular?
