How do you personally study for certifications?

I picked up some horrible study habits from college and made it through. It’s essential for me to pick up certs at work right now. I’m having trouble focusing on studying and memorizing things since I’ve been more involved in “doing” things and projects.
I heard the AWS CCP is a simple cert to obtain, but for example, the compute section with all the S2 this and that is just going out my other ear.
What advice do you guys …
