I have the duckduckgo app trackers blocker installed. And it shows me all these companies and what they tried to withdraw in Metadata from a particular app. Example, Amplitude being one of them.

So how does this happen?

Do these app makers sell sort of backdoor access to user phones? Meaning we installed let say MileIQ, and we grant MileIQ various phone permissions.
then in turn, MileIQ sells access to our phone to these companies and in a way sublicenses …
