Privacy & Freedom in the Information Age

I know I can encrypt into archives and upload to Onedrive or Google drive then share the link with a password but I fear Microsoft or Google will store and preserve my files even after I "delete" it from my cloud storage in the hopes one day they can decrypt it in the future e.g. quantum computing.
