How can an information systems engineer springboard to information security role ?

As someone who has been in information systems for more than 13 years, with experience that ranges from systems design, database design, development, server configuration, training and CTO role, I'm looking to put a foot in information security realm with focus on GRC.

I have passed the CISSP exam lately and the study was a great experience in terms of the domains covered by this certification.
