How bad are the cheaper smartwatches, privacy-wise? Huawei, Oppo, Samsung, etc.

What would be the privacy implications for using any of them? I know Huawei was banned in the US for privacy reasons, but Japan doesn't seem to have done anything against Huawei. Should I stay away from them or the other Chinese brands?
