Privacy & Freedom in the Information Age www.reddit.com

When I search in my country's(Japan) Amazon section for smartwatches, and I look for under 15,000 JPY (~$120 USD), the brands I recognize are Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Samsung, Fitbit.

What would be the privacy implications for using any of them? I know Huawei was banned in the US for privacy reasons, but Japan doesn't seem to have done anything against Huawei. Should I stay away from them or the other Chinese brands?

I don't really need voice assistant, is it …
