Is there any decent host-based IDS software for Windows? Host-based meaning software running on a PC that monitors just the local network ports on that PC, watching for pings, attempted TCP connections, etc., and then alert me with an email or SMS. My thinking is that no legit software on our network should be ‘hitting’ that PC with pings or connection attempts, unless it’s from my workstation’s IP.
