I had my discharge paperwork ready, assuming that I would need to provide a copy of it to verify that I am actually a vet.
However, the HD web site only had me enter name, birthdate, and discharge date, and then promptly displayed a message “You’re verified!”
It seems suspect that HD would have access to some database of veterans, including personal identifying information such as birthdate and military discharge date. …
