Having to give login info just to add bank accounts ass a payment source for online credit cards and rent payments is creating horrible habits and will probably lead to more people getting robbed

Not sure if many of you have run into this but it seems to becoming common place to provide your bank's username and password if you want to make it a payment source for say a credit card or rent payment. Just providing an account and routing number seems to be getting phased out. It's a terrible practice and it's creating terrible habits for any kind of online security.
