It's awfully boring, non-technical and mostly diagrams/presentations/Word documents. I have great WLB, make good money but policy-focused architecture and GRC is so boring. I have a technical background with programming/MS in computer science + CISSP. Thinking of going back to software engineering but that will likely mean reduction in pay and a longer path to seniority (i.e. The big bucks). Especially amid the ongoing financial crisis.

Not sure what to do. Any ideas if there are more technically adjacent paths …
