THIS discussion isn't about how awful Google or their privacy sandbox API is, but rather, how will sites react without cookies if they don't want to play ball with Google?
IMHO, sites with free content, that used to cookie, will likely ask for registration instead, since that will give them the richer data they can turn around and sell to advertisers …
