Facial recognition for work!

My partner has today told me that her workplace are now trying to make her use facial recognition to clock in to work rather than using a traditional key fob!, I have told her under no circumstances is she to give them their her biometric data As I feel this is a huge infringement on her human rights! We live in the UK too so I don't know if anyone can cite any laws for or against this.
