Enumeration script

My mentor assigned me a homework to create a script that will automate enumeration of sites when we are working on new THM rooms.

My idea is to create a bash script that will prompt me to enter the IP address and then search for all possible combinations using RegEx.

Do you think that this is a good idea and what or how would you do differently?
