Due to security concerns over data handling by Byte Dance-TikTok, countries like India have banned TikTok. Should other countries follow suit or allow continued support to TikTok?

As a common man I used to think that my data doesn’t matter but once I got into advertising briefly I got to know that even government officials from a developing country (not mentioning the country) sell off student data to data buyers for marketing purposes.

Some tech giants like Byte dance and Tencent have obscure data handling policies and were promptly banned by democracies like India while its still popular in countries like USA and England, etc.
