I'm a security engineer with 3 YOE that's found myself working in almost entirely macOS environments in my last couple of jobs. The idea of specialising in macOS security and maybe publishing research on macOS security interests me.

Would specialising in this area (training, research, etc.) this early in my career be a detrmiment? And more generally, when should you specialise in your career and when is a bad time to do it?
