I've heard many people describe the job of a soc analyst as repetive and boring, essential just monitoring the siem all day and writing a few reports on findings. I've seen just as many people mad at the oversimplification of the job however. So what exactly can you expect to be doing as a SOC I analyst, outside of watching the siem of course.
