Do you have to turn off first party isolate to use Mastodon?

I am using first party isolate on my browser, but I think you need third party cookies to use Mastodon across different servers. So do I have to use a browser or profile that has that shut off? Is there any kind of work around where I can effectively get first party isolation for everything other than Mastodon?
