Do you get certs for money or to learn or both?

For those that have passed 3-4 certs already, do you continue to go for more to increase salary or out of intellectual curiosity? Looking for honest input - everyone would say to learn to their boss...

As an aside, not sure if anyone feels a low after the high of passing a cert. Takes me awhile to find a new cert that I want to grind.
