Do FOSS APS leave things behind when uninstalling?

I installed an Android app from F-droid. I made the personalized settings. I decided to uninstall it a few days later (cleared data first). When I reinstalled it again about 2 weeks later, my personalized settings were maintained. How?
I'm using LOS. DeGoogled.
