With popularity increasing for managed detection/response services like MXDR, if a company goes this route does it make their internal detection engineering roles obsolete?

Curious if anyone’s gone through this transition at their company, and what changes happened to your detection building teams as a result.

Was there still need for organic detection engineering work? Or does MXDR take care of all that with their coverage guarantees?
