Day In the Life of an Incident Response Consultant?

Can anyone speak to what the day to day is like as an IR consultant at a place like Mandiant/Crowdstrike/other consulting firm? I’m talking 3rd party consulting services (boots on the ground/call this hotline if you have a problem), not internal IR team.
