Data Scientists + Security data. Ideas please.

I have some University data science students (and a part time experienced mentor) who want security data to process in data sciency ways to produce useful information or a fun product.

The data can be a twitter feed, RSS, Shodan (or similar) results, pdf reports, CVEs, patch or vulnerability announcements.

What fun project can I give them with publicly available data?
