Crappy trend with apps and camera/microphone permission

Just something i noticed recently but especially in windows i noticed that some software that has legitimate use for the camera/microphone will just reserve it, as in windows shows that the app is permanently using the camera instead of just using it when i turn it on.

It's not like said application has a preview screen of the camera feed either. I think there's more and more software out there preying on inexperienced users who don't question while the camera …
